2nd prize ozmosaics MAANZ QLD Exhibition 10Oct10 051
"Hello there! I’m Sandy Robertson, the mosaic enthusiast behind OzMosaics.

I’ve been in love with the art of mosaics for over two decades, and I can’t wait to share this passion with you! My journey began in a small corner of Brisbane, Queensland, where I set up OzMosaics. It’s not just a studio, it’s a haven for creativity that’s buzzing almost 24/7. My husband, David, and I have poured our hearts into this space, equipping it with a workshop, a lively studio, and even an online store, The Mosaic Mall.

I’ve had the pleasure of guiding thousands of students through my workshops, both here in Brisbane and internationally. It’s been a joy to watch beginners blossom into advanced artists, many of whom have gone on to establish successful mosaic businesses and create stunning artworks.

In my workshops, you’ll get hands-on experience with a wide range of mosaic techniques. You’ll learn how to shape and use various tesserae, including china, porcelain, ceramic, tempered glass, and smalti. Whether you’re interested in creating intricate patterns or exploring mixed media mosaics, I’m here to guide you every step of the way.

One of the things I love about mosaics is the endless variety of materials you can use. At OzMosaics, we boast one of the largest selections of mosaic materials in Australia. I encourage my students to explore different textures, colors, and shapes. From glass gems and smalti to wine bottles, crockery, slate, glass and ceramic tiles, and millefiori, there’s no limit to what you can create!

Aside from teaching, I also take on professional commissions, creating bespoke mosaic artworks for public spaces, community murals, and private clients. Each piece I create is a testament to my attention to detail and artistic flair.

My impact on the world of mosaics extends far beyond the walls of my studio. My goal is to ignite creativity, foster talent, and celebrate the beauty of mosaic art. Whether you’re a novice or an experienced artist, I promise that my workshops and guidance will leave an indelible mark on your artistic journey—and you’ll have a blast along the way!

For more information, feel free to visit the OzMosaics website or connect with me on Facebook. In the world of mosaics, I’m just a small piece of the puzzle, but together, we can create something truly beautiful. I can’t wait to see what we’ll create together!
