Announcement: Mosaic Mastery New 1-Day Class - Flower Power!
Get creative and warm up in winter with our new 1-day mosaic class, Flower Power! This class will be held at Studio OzMosaics located in Coorparoo, Brisbane, Queensland, Australia. The class will run from 9:00 AM to 5:30 PM on a Sunday with a maximum of 6 students per session.
To secure a place in the class, a non-refundable booking deposit of $50.00 is required, with full payment due 1 week prior to the class.
Mosaicist and Mosaic Teacher, Sandy Robertson, will be leading the class. This workshop will teach you how to shape mosaic flowers, using a variety of materials such as crockery, smalti, stained glass, bottle glass, ceramic tile, and vitreous tile. The class is suitable for both beginners and advanced mosaic makers.
Students will make lots of flower samplers, both flat and 3D, including mini hydrangeas and a variety of blooms. Flower patterns will be provided as a guide, but students are encouraged to use their own imagination. Sandy will share her fabulous tips and tricks, and techniques for shaping flowers 3D, using tinted thinsets, texture, and assemblage of the mosaic.
Upon booking, students will receive an overview of the workshop by email, together with instructions on what to bring to the class. This workshop is a great opportunity to learn the technique of pique assiette and is perfect for those looking to take their mosaic florals to new heights. Bring a bucket of crockery & 1 wine bottle, label removed.
For those interested, a weekend combo of classes is also available, including Workshop B2 and Workshop G. Workshop B2 focuses on making mosaic flowers and samplers, while Workshop G teaches students how to create their own unique mosaic designs using techniques such as direct method, indirect method, and double direct method.
At Studio OzMosaics, we also offer an online mosaic art supply store (or you can visit our studio shop!) with a wide range of materials, including smalti, mosaic gold, vitreous tile, ceramic tile, mirror, grout, adhesives, mosaic mesh, mosboard, cement sheeting, mosaic tools, sealers, epoxy glue, and more.
