Mixed Media and Mosaic tiles - Sandy Style
- Hits: 12125
Mosaic art is addictive! It's wonderful and a great form of therapy. Many love to collect a huge variety of items from garage sales, junk stores, dollar stores, and thrift shops and charity outlets. Mixing the items with new and reused items brings out something special in a mosaic.
An original by Sandy Robertson is a masterpiece titled "From the Inside out". A feeling of trompe l'oel emerges in this mosaic and the collection of pieces tell a story. A student tour through OzMosaics studio and Guest Diva Suites gives the budding mosaic artist insight into "what could be".
Search for the birds, the stained glass, paddle pop sticks, china and much more, in the mural. Mixed with ceramic and vitreous glass tile, the mosaic grew into something special. A wonderful mix of mosaic tiles adds colour and interest to the mosaic mural.
Sandy was delighted to have this mural featured on the cover the NWR Australian Conference Magazine 2011.
From the organiser, Bev Shaw:
Hello Sandy,
Just to fill you in: the use of your mosaic graphics on the cover of our NWR magazine was very well received and lots of compliments due to how it fitted with the venue for our Conference last weekend. I hadn't thought of it this way but as we were at St Joseph's Retreat at Baulkham Hills, some ladies thought it deliberate as the image reminded them of the stained-glass windows of a church. Perfect I suppose. Our conference went very well with the theme Life by Design with 4 great speakers giving very good insight into lifestyle management towards happiness (as we want). Also lovely times with many women from around NSW and Queensland. NWR has an annual conference. Thank you very much once again. A copy is on it's way to OzMosaics at time of writing.
