Saint Arnold Janssen, S.V.D., (November 5, 1837 – January 15, 1909) was a Roman Catholic priest and missionary, and is venerated as a saint. He is best known for founding the Society of the Divine Word, a Roman Catholic missionary religious congregation, also known as the Divine Word Missionaries, as well as two congregations for women.

The making of the mosaic murals and story will be uploaded to OzMosaics website in due course. It was a wonderful experience to be involved in these mosaic artworks, installed in time for the 50 year celebrations in June.

Materials used in the mosaic murals:
Dynasty Smalti (traditional and antique smalti - beautiful shades!), mirror, china, Mosaic glass tiles, cerarmic tile, Smalti bricks and blocks tesserae, smalti glass sheets, fused smalti, Laticrete (Professional cement products and more - best mosaic products!): grout, epoxy paste, thinset, waterproof membranes, Mac glue, mosaic mesh, cement sheeting, sealers, slate sealers, slate. Tools: Leponitt mosaic wheeled cutter, scorer/snapper tool. All products available from OzMosaics Studio Specialty supplies. contact Dave Robertson, Studio/Store Manager for enquiries or shop in our online store. The murals show the diversity of mixing mosaic tesserae and the fantastic performance of Laticrete products in OzMosaics Art Works.
These mosaic contemporary mosaics bring a merging of traditional techniques and materials with modern mosaic style, techniques and materials. A happy mosaic melding.
